Mayor of Woking, Cll Beryl Hunwicks

The Rt Hon Mayor of Woking; Cllr Beryl Hunwicks, will be showing her support with a video message and singer/song-writer 'Abikanile' who is a Woking resident will be performing during our 'Big Sleep In' on the 23rd October whilst also helping us with our 1st key activity.

We start this update by thanking both the Mayor of Woking and Abikanile for dedicating some time to York Road Project. We look forward to hearing what our Mayor has to say about the services we operate in Woking and are excited to hear the amazing music Abikanile has prepared for us.

Abikanile Music supporting York Road Project charity

Abikanile being from Brazil has a Latin influence in music. Think sunshine, think samba and think Brazil - it's punchy, it's fun, it's most definitely different and music you'll remember.

Abikanile will be performing a special set for you all with some of her own music and a couple of cover that you'll most definitely be singing along to. Abikanile and your host Stephen will also taking you through our 1st activity which will get you thinking about homelessness and rough-sleeping inspiring you to write your own poem or song with the best 1 being chosen after the event. (Activity sheets will be e-mailed to all registered viewers).

If you would like to register for the event as one of our fundraisers and/or take part in the 'Prize Quiz' and '2 Key activities' please visit: (Under 18's Free, Over 18's only £5)

Further announcements relating to performers, activities or anything else due in the coming weeks.
