YRP clients go fishing!

YRP clients go fishing!

Here at YRP we recognise that many of our clients are unable to participate in activities which they used to access.  Tony delivered fishing workshops where clients learned about the different equipment, baits and even how to tie flies.  They then went to Woking park and practised casting the line and perfected the art of not hooking each other!  The workshops culminated in the group spending a day fishing on the canal and as you can see from the pictures, lots of fish were caught! The clients (and staff) had a great time.  We find that this type of activity lifts self esteem and confidence which often transfers into other aspects of their lives - many clients feel marginalised through being homeless and by doing something 'normal' helps them tremendously.

Another fishing trip has already been requested!
