YRP Homeless Choir record an Album! Now Available!

Posted on: 5 December 2014 in

The YRP Homeless Choir are proud to announce that their CD is now out.  All of the members are homeless and the choir was initially started for those who lived in our temporary accommodation or who were rough sleeping to have the opportunity to sing together and to have fun.  It has grown organically and is now one of our most popular activities with performances at venues such as Weyfest and Woking Jubilee Square. This CD demonstrates their commitment to work together and shows others what they can achieve.  We were fortunate to be offered full use of the recording studios at Surrey University and everyone had a fantastic time accessing an environment which they may not normally see.

Special thanks to Dan Bishop (recording engineer), Eleanor Cooper (flute/sax), Mark Prentice-Whitney (trombone), Greg McAllister (drums), Ed Roberts (bass guitar), Margaret Roberts (piano). Thanks also to Robin Hawkins and Ben Roots (recording assistants) Donations of  £5 are suggested and the proceeds will directly help more rough sleepers in Woking.

If you would like one, please call the shelter on 01483 728739.  They are also are available at The Lightbox and Christchurch book shop.
