Whilst York Road Project is funded to provide accommodation and support to our clients, there are some things we have to fund internally. Here at York Road Project we believe in providing that second chance and will work continuously with clients to support them through homelessness and/or rough sleeping into an everyday routine thereby, Defeating Homelessness locally.

From the Outreach Team to the overnight staff supporting clients in the Night Shelter, we need to be prepared for every eventuality.  During severe weather York Road Project initiates the Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) and it’s all hands-on deck to ensure we find anyone who is sleeping rough and providing them a bed, food and any other necessities. At these times, additional costs may be incurred which is now being exacerbated by the COVID-19 Pandemic.

We ensure our move on properties are well maintained, with everything in good working order to provide our clients with everything they need to set them on their way independent living. We’ll think outside the box and encourage our clients to think about how they can get into a routine and help us to help themselves.

At the PROP (Day centre) we have PCs with internet access* which our clients can use throughout the day. We’ll support them to complete forms, finding suitable work or apprenticeships, and fund costs of qualifications needed to get into work.

Our clients might not have access to their ID and in some cases, we might financially assist with a deposit,1st months rent.or someof the essential items they may need to make their house a home.

*PC's also available for use with internet access at our temporary facility in HG Wells / Woking hotel.
