YRP Sleep Out 2018
Join us for just one night sleeping out in Woking town Centre and raise vital funds for YRP
It's Sleep Out Time!!
York Road Project with support from Woking Borough Council are pleased to announce the YRP Sleep Out is on 29h September 2018.
Spend a night out in the open and get a tiny glimpse into the world of a rough sleeper. With only a sleeping bag and some cardboard, you will bed down in the open air without a comfy mattress, thick duvet or roof over your head (although you can bring some plastic in case it rains!) and try to get some sleep.
Many ask why we hold our sleep out in the warmer months and not in the dead of winter and the reason is simple. Homelessness affects our community every single day of the year and not just in winter and we want to raise awareness to this reality.
You will hear stories from some of our clients about what it's 'really' like to sleep outside night after night and with your help and your sponsorship, we can prevent even more people from having to sleep on the streets. Anyone over the age of 13 can take part but under 18's must be accompanied by an adult. You can take part as an individual or why not get your whole work place involved?
Places are strictly limited so please sign up quickly.
Taking part is easy:
Ideally, register with Just Giving and create a page telling your supporters what you are doing and please don't forget to tick the gift aid box and make your money go further! Email the link to your friends and family or why not promote your efforts on Twitter or Facebook?
Or you can donate directly using our Just Giving page.
Once you have registered, we will be in contact with you to let you know about the arrangements for the night.
All you have to do is collect lots of money and try to sleep!
